We have gradually become accustomed to hearing about climate change, CO2 emissions and alternative energy, but in recent years the climate debate has partly been replaced by discussions – among politicians, companies and NGOs – on sustainability and green change.
But what do the new concepts really mean? Sustainable development and green change are often used when talking about finding new green technologies, better resource utilisation, new business models, more environmentally friendly products, or new ways to price a good deal.
Basically, the green change is about the transition from the current “black” economy, based on fossil energy (coal, gas and oil) into a “green” economy, based more heavily on renewable energy sources such as solar, wind and water.
